The architecture of Time - Two alcoves Joining

THE ARCHITECTURE OF TIME - TWO ALCOVES JOINING (2021)
Two Alcoves Joining combines the principle of a bell jar under which a relic is kept and the idea of the alcove as a physical space in which to retreat. Two historical concepts that aim to create a context in which what lies before us - whether material or ideal - is given focus, unaffected by the fiery rush with which everything else rushes past. A plea for contemplation, stillness and (self )care, which is also present in the materials used. In the composite of ancient soil from a specific place and in the veiled resin that gradually reveals what it hides. But Two Alcoves Joining also holds an invitation. To separate the two parts with a conscious act and to enter in thought into the inner spaces that reveal themself. Or to place the reassembled volume in a different way, with the curve downwards, so that a container is made, perhaps a vase for a carefully dried bouquet
